Stainless Veterinarian’s Knife

IMG_4689This knife was made on commission for our local large animal veterinarian. It has the shape and design of a hunting knife, so as to be a good utility knife. The materials used in this knife are stainless steel for both the blade and guard, and micarta (a linen composite) for the handle. These materials were chosen for their chemical resistance, so that the knife can be submerged in commercial sanitizers between each job.

The blade is finished with a 400 grit hand rubbed finish, and includes a filed thumb stop on the spine of the blade for extra grip.
